As we venture into 2022, we are experiencing a buyer demand and multiple offers over list price even with a slowly increasing interest rate. There has been an anticipated "seasonal slow" in property sales throughout Monterey County, Santa Cruz County, and San Benito County. Mortgage applications have decreased by 10% and refinancing home loans have decreased by 7% according to Mortgage Bankers Association. Buyers appear to have an increased interest in older homes as the cost of building supplies increase and the speed of construction slows for new build homes.
